Write a service page that ranks in your city.

A step-by-step AI prompt for a local service page: the right headings, real answers to buyer questions, and FAQs Google and AI search can quote.

If your website has one "Services" page listing everything you do, Google has no strong page to show for any single search. The businesses that win local search have one page per main service, written for the person searching it in their city.

This prompt drafts that page. The structure is what we use on client sites: a clear promise, proof, the process, honest pricing guidance, and the questions buyers really ask. That last part matters more every month, because AI search tools quote pages that answer questions plainly.

How to use it

  • Do one page per service, for example "Basement waterproofing in Ottawa", not one page for everything.
  • Give the AI real material: your process, guarantees, typical timelines, and the questions customers ask you on the phone. The more real detail, the less generic the page.
  • Edit the draft. Add your photos, a real customer quote and your phone number near the top.
service-page.txt
Write a service page for my website that ranks in local search and converts visitors into calls.

Service: [e.g. basement waterproofing]
City and nearby areas we serve: [e.g. Ottawa, Kanata, Orléans, Barrhaven]
Business: [name], [years in business], [licences/insurance/warranties, true ones only]
Who usually buys this: [e.g. homeowners who found water after a storm]
Our process in plain steps: [list]
Typical timeline: [e.g. 2 to 4 days]
Price guidance we are comfortable sharing: [e.g. "most jobs land between X and Y", or "we quote after a free inspection"]
Questions customers ask on the phone: [list 5 to 10]
Tone: [e.g. calm, expert, no hype]

Write:
1. SEO title (under 60 characters, service + city + brand) and meta description (under 155 characters, with a reason to click).
2. H1 that says the service and the city in plain words.
3. A 2-sentence opening: the problem, our promise, and a call to action.
4. "Why [business]": 4 short points built only from the facts above.
5. "How it works": the process as numbered steps.
6. "What it costs": honest guidance from what I gave you. Never invent numbers.
7. FAQ: 6 to 8 questions in the words a customer would type, each answered in 2 to 4 direct sentences.
8. A closing call to action with [phone] and [booking link].
9. FAQPage JSON-LD for the FAQ section.

Rules: write for a person first. Mention the city naturally, about 3 to 5 times, never in a list of keywords. No invented reviews, stats, awards or guarantees. Short paragraphs. Canadian English.

Before you publish

  • Title tag and description: use the two the prompt writes. They are what people see on Google.
  • One page, one service, one city focus. Mention nearby areas you serve naturally, but do not stuff a list of 40 suburbs.
  • Link it from your home page and menu, and from any blog posts on the same topic.
  • Add the FAQ schema the prompt produces, or ask your web person to. It helps Google and AI tools read your answers.

Never let AI invent reviews, certifications, numbers or guarantees. Every claim on the page should be something you can back up.
